Graphics- 5.5/10
How did they even get away with the horrible textures on these characters? They're so poorly detailed at times, that it looks like someone threw up on your television screen. There's also the problem with the characters "disappearing." Some things will vanish inconsistently, right in front of you. C'mon people, this is a game, not a magic show. And if you want further proof of the poor details and textures, look at the clock tower.
Sound- 7.5/10
The sound quality is standard, and that's all. Nothing to turn up the voulume for, but you wouldn't want to mute it, either. There's a few songs you might hum, yet a few you might hate, so it's mediocre, to say the least. The most annoying thing is Bomberman's high-pitched "I did it!" after you clear a stage. My ears! Oh, God, my ears!
Gameplay- 6.5/10
Here's where they really messed up, and it can be summed up in two words: NO MULTI-PLAYER. Yes, the meat of the Bomberman series was totally excluded from the game! Sad... very sad, indeed. Needless to say, there's not much initiative to play it once the game is over. And even as you are playing, the terrible camera will often be the cause of your death. The developers tried to save their skin by throwing in a few new contraptions (Bomber Marine, Bomber Jet, etc.) but, as you may have guessed, they are a total flop! The aim system is terrible, the manueverability is usually poor, and the stages are straight-forward and repetitive. (The best one I played was where you fly down a river in the Bomber Copter.) Add with that an inconsistent difficulty level, poor storywriting, and bad dialogue... And, presto! You have Bomberman Hero!
Overall- 6.5/10
Not the worst game ever, but not necessarily a good one, either. But, This is probably the worst Bomberman game that has been made. But, I really shouldn't complain forever. If you really want to burn your wallet, then buy or rent this game. Who knows? You might actually like it...
Weirdo.
