TOPIC: LoZ: LTTP/FS
In my personal opinion, a kick-ass game. An almost 100% faithful recreation of the mega-blockbuster SNES title, it serves as a foregame in advertising the great quality of the GBA, along with Metroid Fusion.
Unfortunately, every game has its pros--and cons. But, to make the fans happy, I'll start with the pros.
MUSIC (LTTP): 100% recreation of every soundtrack from the original. No new or b/s scores. RATING: 5/5
MUSIC (FS): It's not the best, but when the action happens, the scores of suspenseful music really shine golden, although the Talus Caves score is a bit gawdy. RATING: 4/5
SFX (LTTP): Taken from OoT and MM, this isn't the best game to put these FX in, but they still sound cool. You can partially hear Link's voice over the fighting if you listen carefully. RATING: 3/5
SFX (FS) Same deal as in LTTP. Better place to put them. RATING: 4/5
GAMEPLAY (LTTP): All recreated from the original LTTP. Still looking strong. RATING/ 4.5/5
GAMEPLAY (FS): I don't know what to say. The levels are NEVER he same! But, that was a good idea to make the levels random. Props to Nintendo and Capcom. RATING: 4/5
BOSS PLAY (LTTP): here's our first con of the day. While vets to LTTP know the boss tactics by heart (such as me), others don't. the bosses are VERY tough to endure, especially for newbies, as they can't find Pieces of Heart easily. As the game goes on, it gets tougher. Helmasaur King (DW 1) is a tough cookie, and so is Blind (DW 4). Kholdstare (DW 5) and Trinexx (DW 7) are fairly easy, while Arrghus (DW 2) is a pushover. If you make your way into the FS Palace (in the Pyramid), Helmasaur King, Arrghus, Mothula (DW 3) and Blind are back, and a LOT tougher. RATING: 2.5/5
BOSS PLAY (FS): Fairly easy, since the bosses are weak, but Vaati is not. As you go through the Gold and Hero key Quests, though, they become really tough, and so does Vaati. Hero Vaati is damn near impossible to beat. RATING: 3/5
DUNGEON (LTTP): 95% recreated, with the exception of ONE room in the Ice Palace (DW 5) That room had a changeup because you could use the Cane of Somaria (DW 6 treasure) to cheat a pressure switch. All in all, very good recreation. RATING: 4/5
DUNGEON (FS): see GAMEPLAY.
ITEMS (LTTP): All almost the same, except a few button changes. RATING: 4.5/5
ITEMS (FS): Another con. I do not like the way you have to trade every time you need a new item. This forces unnecessary backtracking, and could cost you the Rupee game. RATING: 2/5
COMPETITION (FS ONLY): This was an awesome idea to reward for ruthlessness. Another victory for Nintendo and Capcom. RATING: 4.5/5
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past: 23.5/30
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords: 21.5/30
That just about does it. Any questions, email me at FatherBrain230@norfairdepths.tk
