Graphics: 10/10
No, seriously, if you can name a SNES game with better 2d visuals than this (other than Rockman & Forte, which was in Japan until release on the GBA,) then I'll commend you for that. The framerate is excellent, and the pastel graphics work out to an amazing effect. It completely brings out the environments in the game, and several stages where it is either raining or snowing look fantastic. I mean, in a cartoony kind of way, it almost looks realistic, even for a trippy old 2D game. The character sprites also look pretty good, although a few here and there look like they were cut out from some of the GB Kirby games, with just a little color added to them. It's never too large a problem, but it feels like there was little effort put into that aspect, and it doesn't feel up to par with the game's otherwise stellar graphics.
Gameplay- 8/10
Honestly, it's not that it's a bad game in this aspect, but it feels like almost every other Kirby game. Ever. The partner system, however, was kicked up a notch, and the game retains the multi-player aspects that made Superstar so awesome. However, there really isn't anything new here, other than a few new partners and abilities, and some new boss fights. That, and a goal for every stage in the game, which if completed correctly, will unlock the true ending, and (a very fun) final battle with Dark Matter.
Story- NULL
If I did give this game a story rating, it would bog the final score down so badly, it would look like a bad game. So, you should pretty much ignore this category.
Sound & Music- 9/10
Pretty cool, kinda' druggy, and pretty much the norm for a Kirby game. The tempo of the music is either fast paced and chaotic, or a more mid-tempo cheery kind of thing. As for the sound effects, if you've played a Kirby game before, not much has changed. It sounds a bit better, but not exponentially.
Overall- 9/10
Not many people had the chance to play this game, as it was one of the last to be released on the system. It is not by any means a bad game, but for some it may just leave a "Been there, done that" feeling, and if you didn't like the older games much, there's not a huge chance this one will grab your attention.
