Legend of Legaia is an extremely overlooked game especially for a playstation 1 game. The few that have played, loved it. The ones that have heard of it call it moronic and stupid. Well I'm here to set the record straight about this game
Graphics 9.5/10
I found that the graphics in battle were the greatest of all PS1 types. The armor,weapon, and even the accesories could be seen. But when you were in the overhead map, than it looked very badly done. I could see where their lines indicating what might have been a chin.
Sound 10/10
This game had some very memorable music that should have been known by all of the world. When you were entering a sad part you could tell, just by listening to the music. When it was a happier time, everything was all hyper and sunshiney. And when you made it to a part of pure hatred, then there was a music like evil torture was upon you. You could feel it in your soul.
Gameplay 10/10
Legend of Legaia had an easy gameplay type. You put in commands like right punch, left punch, high kick, and, low kick. When you combined them in a certain order, you would get a combo. When you had goten new magic, you could always tell, and when you used spells, then it took a small amount of time for the most impressive things I have ever seen.
Story 9.75/10
The story had the classic cleche(sp?) of save the world from impending doom. Yet, there are many twists in the game. You may think that reviving dead trees is not the perfect idea of fun, but you are wrong, and if you play the game you will fin that I was correct in saying that.There are many things you have to do to get to these trees, and when you get to them, you see what the characters souls most purely want.
Characters 10/10 You can not describe the characters with mere words. They were purely passionet. They had feelings like real people, they became sacred, they had hatred brewing within them, they had love for another. The three main characters didnt connect at the beggining, but after spending much time with each other, made it so they would protect each other with their lives, like they were real people.
Overall 9.75/10
This is one of the best games I have ever played. Legend of Legaia proved that there is hope for the RPG's of the fututre. It showed me that not all RPG's are the same, and that people can still come out with originall things in the gaming world.
